In Maths this morning we worked very hard to use a ruler. We were measuring to the nearest centimetre and millimetre.
Today we had a very important job to do. Mrs Sabir and the our Reading Reps (Paige and Sam) need to buy some new books for our school library. We went to the library and looked at the books we already have and came up with some ideas of books that we think other children would like. Paige and Sam are going to take our ideas back to Mrs Sabir next week.
Yesterday in PE we continued to work on our throwing and catching skills. We used a range of different balls and tried really hard to throw them accurately to our partner.
Then we finished the lesson by playing Dishes and Domes.
This afternoon we took part in a World Cup colouring competition. We had some amazing entries and everyone worked really hard.
Well done to Willow, Solomon, Bethany, Aidan, Mackenzie, Cody and Reece who were all runners up in the colouring competition.
Congratulations to Mackenzie who was voted by Class 3 as the overall winner.
Today we continued with our work about the World Cup. We were given a booklet with all of the countries’ flags. We then used atlases and netbooks to find out information about each country.
Then we had a challenge to colour in all of the World Cup countries.
Can you remember how many countries are in this year’s World Cup? How many can you name?
Today we had a fun PE lesson. As it’s World Cup week some of us took part in a football match. The rest of us enjoyed skipping and throwing activities.
First of all we were set a challenge – We had to see how many World Cup countries we could name. As a class we came up with all but 3! How many can you name?
Next, in Maths we learnt about co-ordinates and compass directions. We had to follow the instructions and stick the footballers in the right positions on the pitch.
