We have spent a lot of time perfecting our Mothers Day assembly (Wednesday 2nd March).
Here is a little preview of our Mothers Day song.
Below are the lyrics of the whole song which the bluebirds can sing along to at home.
What makes a family?
What ingredients do you need?
Stir it up and see.
How many people does it take
For one family to make?
Count them up and see.
Everybody’s family is different
And different is how they should be.
We are red we are orange and yellow
We are green, blue and indigo
We’re unique, we are all different colours
But together we’re a rainbow.
What makes a family?
Is it something we can see?
Take a look with me.
And what makes a happy home?
Is it knowing we’re not alone?
There is someone here for me.
Everybody’s someone is different
And different is how they should be.
We are red we are orange and yellow
We are green, blue and indigo
We’re unique, we are all different colours
But together we’re a rainbow.
Nobody’s family’s perfect all the time
It takes a little bit of rain and a little bit of sunshine
We are red we are orange and yellow
We are green, blue and indigo
We’re unique, we are all different colours
But together we’re a rainbow.
This week we have been looking at fossils and how they are formed.
We used play dough and plaster of paris to demonstrate the layers of rock, creating the fossil of an animal trapped between the layers.
For Safer Internet Week, Bluebirds were discussing things we love about the internet:
We then discussed things we do not like about the internet and things we wish we could change:
Luckily Bluebirds are so sensible online we know how to stay safe.
A huge well done to Christos, who has completed the ’25 club’ and will now start the 26 club tests.
Another well done to the following children who passed their tests within their number clubs –
• Nila
• Tia
• Sophie
• Abdulbari
Thinktank came to visit Bells Farm this week. Bluebirds were very lucky to have the ‘night dome’ experience. Whilst in the night dome, we were given lots of interesting facts about the solar system.
This afternoon we followed a step by step guide to make a Celtic knot.
The children worked so hard following the step by step instructions, which were sometimes difficult to understand. With concentration and perseverance… Look at the end result!
Our first ‘check in’ of the week was something a little different.
Year 3 were put into two circles, an inner circle and outer circle. The Bluebirds had to face each other and say one kind thing about one another. The the inner circle would move across, facing the next child. We continued to do this until we all said one kind thing.
Today in English we were writing reports on dragons. We were using the ‘How to train your dragon’ website to create our own interesting facts about our mythical creature.
The children loved the how to train your dragon website. Take a look – click here.
A big well done to:
Sophie for moving up to the ’26 club’
And another well done to:
Christos
Emily
For passing their number clubs test. They are only one more test away until they move to a different club too!!
Sometimes we find our number clubs tricky. But we persevere. We try week after week and the hard work pays off. Keep it up!
