Today in Art, we have been making Celtic brooches. The aim was to design a beautiful brooch to hold clothing together. After a very sticky afternoon we have designed some fantastic brooch. Once they dry we can paint them using gold, bronze and silver paints.
Take a look at our brooches so far!
Today in R.E, Year 3 have been learning about the Sikh festival of Vaisakhi. Mr Baddhan visited Year 3 to answer some questions from the Bluebirds children.
So, what did the Bluebirds find out…
For British Values Week Bluebirds were given the task to search for British charities and the work they do.
Each table group picked a charity and found lots of information about the chosen charity and the fund raising activities they do.
A huge well done to the following children –
For getting all their number club questions correct. Some have moved to a whole new club. Keep it up!
Today we have been looking at what happens in a Gurdwara. What facts did the Bluebirds find out?
We recorded all the above facts plus many more in our R.E books. Well done Year 3!
A big well done to:
• Emily – Moved to a new number club
For passing their number club tests. Keep it up!!
Today during Circle Time, Bluebirds were looking at this month’s value word –
We also discussed how sometimes without even knowing we can sometimes be dishonest. We watched a video called ‘Lara’s little lie’.
We watched this video – Lara’s little lie – click here.
The Bluebirds realised that we too have told ‘little white lies’ at some point in our lives without realising the consequences.
Bluebirds agree…Honesty is the best policy!
Today in R.E we have been looking at the life of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism.
Who is Guru Nanak?
Lexie – Guru Nanak was the first Sikh Guru. He said rich and poor were equal.
We looked at many stages of Guru Nanak’s life. From growing up, first job, teaching others and how we celebrate the life of Guru Nanak today. We also put these events in order.
We also looked at videos telling the beginning of Sikhism –

Well done Bluebirds, lots of interesting facts.
What an amazing day we’ve had! Bluebirds look fantastic dressed up as their favourite characters from books they love to read.
For World Book Week, Bluebirds want to show off their wonderful reading skills. This blog features the fabulous Osama who is reading ‘Chicken Licken’ with lots of fluency and expression.
Well done Osama. You super star!!
