Questioning a text

This week in Year 3, our reading strategy is to be able to ask and answer questions about a text. We have been reading fiction texts and thinking about what it means to question a text.

When reading, we should always be thinking about what is happening and wondering about what we can find out. In order to do this, we should check that our reading makes sense. We can check the text makes sense by using our other reading strategies we have practised in previous weeks.

In our groups this week, we have been looking at the front covers of books and staying what we know from the front cover and questioning what we would like to know. We have also been asking and answering questions about the text as we have been reading as well.

Our independent task was to write questions about the front cover of book in our Gudied Reading books.
